San Ramon, California
Our California clients were thrilled with our virtual exterior design concept featuring a contemporary yet simple color scheme that complemented their existing brown roof. Using warmer white tones and wood finishes was the key to the new look. We used a combination of lap and board and batten siding painted in Benjamin Moore Seapearl, a warmer and versatile off-white color with soft gray undertones. To achieve a more contemporary monochromatic look, we also painted the new wider window trim and all corner trim in Seapearl, while the fascia and soffits were treated to Benjamin Moore Simply White, another warm white that is brighter than Seapearl and thus creates a subtle yet clean framing effect.
Window frames were painted black, and to inject some warmth and natural textures to the design, we incorporated timber headers above each of the front windows.
We added a new gorgeous smooth cedar wood-plank garage doors with vertically stacked windows, and also replaced the existing front doors with Modern Fiberglass Double Doors with Vertical Glass Panels in a Black Mahogany Finish ("Santa Barbara" by GlassCraft). The modern styling of the doors directs visual interest to the main point of entry, and fit perfectly with the modern farmhouse look our clients desired. We also incorporated a beautiful custom wood pergola above the front door that gives the appearance of the continuation of the rafters from the main roof, which also contributes to a more contemporary aesthetic. Modern black metal cylinder wall sconces and large metal house numbers complete the new look!
Overall, the mix of warm white hues, black metal finishes, wood textures and accents, and natural greenery come together to create a modern-farmhouse inspired stunner that manages to feel fresh and sophisticated, while retaining its natural warmth and charm!
