Our east coast clients were swooning over this virtual exterior design concept proposing a new darker color scheme. The siding and brick were painted in Benjamin Moore Midnight Oil, a deep dark shade of blue with true black undertones that worked perfectly for their wooded river setting. The fascia, soffit and window trim was painted in Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, a gorgeous warm light gray with muddy beige undertones that creates a nice yet soft contrast with the deep blue on the siding and brick. We used a stacked-ledgestone style stone veneer in gray and brown tones on the lower portion of the house which adds some beautiful texture and dimension.
The windows were left as is per our client’s request, but we added wider trim, removed the shutters, and capped the bumped-out windows on the lower-level with a standing seam metal roof bonnet to coordinate with the existing portico awning.
For the new garage door, we chose a beautiful V-Groove wood carriage garage door in a medium-depth walnut-colored wood stain with upper window lites and black iron hardware. To ensure the front entry is now a stunning focal point of the new design, we incorporated a beautiful craftsman-style 3/4 divided lite double door with overhead transom stained to match the garage doors. Simple, modern black metal lantern-style sconces, gooseneck barn lights, and a hanging light were incorporated throughout the design. The porch columns and railing were also updated and modernized. Fresh new landscape and hardscape complete the new look!
